In baseball, usually after 9 innings, you know the winner. But sometimes, if the game is tied up after 9 innings, it goes to extra innings. The game takes on a new level of excitement. Every pitch and swing of the bat has meaning. This is why I called this newsletter “Your Extra Innings”. You’ve played your 9 innings and now you move into a new and exciting part of your life.

Ten years ago, after a great career I ran out of gas. I spent years working in Washington DC, Boston, Albany, Waterbury Ct, hardly ever close to home. I was exhausted and stressed out, so I walked away with no solid plan on what was going to happen next.

After a few months off, I was asked by a former client to help them on a difficult project. That started a very nice journey into semi-retirement. For the first five years I consulted on projects for, on average, six months each year and having fun the other six months. The last five years I’ve been fully retired. I used the free time I had over those ten years to study and get to know many of the experts in the retirement and baby-boomer field. I explored the many resources books, blogs, podcasts, and webinars that are out there to help me succeed on my path through this chapter in my life.

Every week I will share what I’ve learned and provide you with tips, tools, and some knowledge that will help you live your retirement years on your terms. I will cover retirement planning, 2nd acts, working in retirement, finances, health and fitness, technology, interests and activities, and anything else I find that I think you may find helpful or just plain interesting.
