Yup, I got it. Tested positive for COVID on November 1, and was sick for 1 day after that. Then I settled in for over 2 weeks of pure exhaustion. I couldn’t read or write anything. I missed a week of the newsletter, but this is my abbreviated return.

Last week, 95 year-old Angela Alvarez won the “Best New Artist” Grammy. After years of playing her songs for family and friends, Angela, at 90, decided to hit the stage. Her grandson recorded her and released an album. Her story is an inspiration to all us older people who may have a spark of something buried in us waiting to be released.
Retirement is the perfect time to dust off your long-lost talents. Some of the retirement books in my library have titles like “Don’t Retire, Rewire”, “Boomer Reinvention”, and “Refire, Don’t Retire”.

To say that the last few years have been turbulent is a tiny understatement. Politics, the economy, COVID plus friends, and a war have made for some unsettling times. Thanks to Roger Whitney - The Retirement Answer Man here are a couple of suggestions for easing your stress a little.
Bring your life to micro, not macro. What can you do next? Don’t try to take in more information and more data to solve the bigger picture.
Remember what you want ultimately. In retirement, this is probably covering the basic expenses of your life rather than optimizing your portfolio.
Identify areas where you can make incremental changes to help you retain your feeling of accomplishment.
